HIGHLIGHTS:
District 205 is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the next principal of York High School beginning July 1, 2027. The high school currently enrolls 2,589 students in grades 9-12, primarily from the town of Elmhurst but also including small sections of Oak Brook, Bensenville and Addison. The principal is responsible for all aspects of leadership in this flagship high school that is the pride of the Elmhurst community.
- Elmhurst is a highly desirable west suburban community with easy commutes to Chicago, two major airports, high-quality shopping and dining, and highways in all directions.
- Residents of Elmhurst are engaged, active, and committed to education. Many current residents returned to Elmhurst to raise their families after having grown up there.
- Elmhurst District 205 supports an early childhood center, eight elementary schools, three middle schools, the Bridges Transition Center, and York. Families move here to access the excellent schools.
- York High School has a comprehensive academic program that supports student academic and personal development and readiness for college and careers. Students can access in-house career pathway programs such as a student-run restaurant or broadcast television studio, or enroll in classes at the Technology Center of DuPage. York also provides dual credit opportunities through Indiana University’s Advance College Project and College of DuPage.
- Extensive programs in music, art and theatre offer curricular and extracurricular opportunities; wide-ranging athletic and activities offerings provide programs to meet every student’s needs.

Terms of Employment:
- This position has a 12-month, one-year contract that is renewable annually.
- Compensation Salary range of $190,000-$210,000 along with benefits Board-paid TRS and health-dental/vision insurance along with other typical benefits such as sick and vacation time.
